Now boarding: 32,000 square feet of bowling, karaoke and darts at the Stapleton International Airport traffic control tower.
Punch Bowl Social will open its second Denver location Saturday at 3120 N. Uinta St. It’s the 10th location nationwide for VC-backed Punch Bowl, which opened its first location on South Broadway in 2012.
Founder and CEO Robert Thompson said the Stapleton location was one of the company’s first-planned expansions. It purchased the 2-acre property in 2015.
The size and construction of the location made the Stapleton project a longer undertaking than some of Punch Bowl’s other outposts.
“We had deals that we weren’t even talking about that are open now,” Thompson said.

The building was formerly the air traffic control tower for the Stapleton Airport, which closed in 1995.
Similar to the other Punch Bowl locations, the Stapleton spot has bowling lanes and arcade games.
The new location also has 14,000 square feet of outdoor space. The patio has a lounge that can be used year round, as well as two bocce ball courts, a beer garden and space for games like giant Jenga.
In 2016, Punch Bowl Social brought in $40 million in revenue. The company is continuing to expand its restaurant empire, with locations planned in Dallas, Chicago, Brooklyn.
