An 18-year-old Bonnie Brae restaurant closed on Sunday, but the building won’t be out of commission for long.

730 South Bar & Grill on University Boulevard opened in 1999.

Westword reported that owner Larry Herz bought the restaurant from Scott Holtzer and Ron Girardi in 2006, when the name was stylized Seven 30 South.

A sign posted on the restaurant’s door says Herz closed 730 South in order to spend more time with his family.

Food soon will be served again. A new restaurant called Brightmarten has signed a lease at the location, according to Wade Nelson of Brightmarten.
